About the League of Women Voters of Kent

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging the informed and active participation of citizens in government through education and advocacy and does not support or oppose political candidates or parties.

Founded in 1954, the League of Women Voters of Kent has a rich tradition of providing voter registration and voter education that is open to the public and tackles local, state and national issues. In partnership with The Record-Courier, Kent LWV has compiled the popular Voter's Guide which the newspaper has published continuously for more than 50 years before elections.

We are committed to the core values of diversity, equity and inclusion. We will continue to grow a diverse organization of shared power that considers and values all perspectives expressed when making decisions. We are creating a community of respect, celebration, and empowerment which enables all people to influence government through active participation in the political process.
